Roseate Spoonbill/Platalea ajaja

The roseate spoonbill/Platalea ajaja is fairly common in the Caño Region of Costa Rica and around the Gulf of Nicoya. They forage in the shallow waters of open wetland habitats. They are the only pink bird in Costa Rica.
